Alex Nail is a full-time landscape photographer, particularly known for his mountain and wilderness images. He regularly travels to Iceland, Norway and Drakensberg, but it is the North-West Highlands of Scotland that draw him back time and again.
These visits north of the border resulted in his highly acclaimed 2018 book ’Northwest’, which Joe Cornish described as “a visual love song dedicated to a sublime landscape”. Alex often wild camps on mountaintops to be sure of the best late evening and early morning light, so we can expect to be amazed by a succession of sublime images and colourful descriptions of how they were captured. His current project, for a new book, focuses on the Great Wilderness and Fisherfield areas of the Scottish Highlands, together with the Isle of Harris.
If you would like to join Alex and the Viewfinder Photographic Society for this presentation, the session costs £5.00 each (a Zoom link will be emailed to you two or three days before it commences).
