Selby Camera Club’s annual exhibition will once again be held in the Abbey this August Bank Holiday.
It has been held in the Abbey for over 20 years and is always extremely popular attracting over 800 visitors, It is one of Selby’s main attractions over the holiday.
People visiting the exhibition are asked to vote for their favourite three images and usually about 700 people take part. The author of the picture that collects the most votes wins the much coveted Rose Bowl, one of the many trophies which are awarded during the club year. The club competes in national and international competitions.
Selby Camera Club is 136 years old this year. Today there are about 60 active members who compete in competitions, go on photographic outings and help each other to improve their photography. Members’ skills range from beginners to the more experienced.
