The First Public Exhibition of the Photographic Work of Arthur H. Guise

For the first time, a curated collection of Arthur H. Guise’s photographic work will be presented to the public.
Although widely respected as a silversmith, Arthur’s archive other than commissioned pieces, remained unseen outside family and close friends during his lifetime. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience a selection of photographic work as a considered presentation.
Captured across Yorkshire and beyond, his photographs reveal a quiet attentiveness to form, light, and everyday detail. Landscapes, street scenes, architectural studies, and intimate portraits sit side by side — each image reflecting the same measured eye and instinct for balance that defined his work in silver.
This exhibition is not a retrospective in the conventional sense. It is a beginning — the first step in sharing a visual archive that has remained private for decades.
Further information about the life and works of Arthur H Guise can be found on the dedicated website and on Instagram.
The exhibition takes place at Otley Courthouse from 4th to 30th June. Please see the venue website for location and opening hours. Entry is free.
